Cabe aims to serve up a selection of dishes from not just Indonesia’s main islands of Java and Bali, but also the rest of the country’s diverse cuisine culture. Cabe (pronounced ‘cha-be’) means ‘chili pepper’ in Indonesian, and Cabe does what it can to live up to its name. If exceptionally spicy food isn’t your thing or you wonder if spice fatigue might set in, fear not — each dish is carefully handmade and spiced to order. Try out the beef, shrimp, tempeh or any of the coconut dishes. The spacious yet cosy interior seats 42 and features large windows, making it a great place to settle in to taste the flavours of Indonesia — and while you’re at it get some travel ideas too.
