Review

Kozasa zushi is a sushi restaurant which broke away from an older Shimokitazawa restaurant with the same name. Since it opened about 14 year ago in Ginza, a battleground for sushi restaurants, it has gained a status as a top-rated restaurant. If you try kohada (shad fish gizzards), anago (sea eel) or kisu (whiting) vinegared with konbu seaweed, you’ll understand why the restaurant is so popular. It’s known for its rice, which falls apart perfectly in your mouth. The sushi comes in fairly small portions, so if you go there starving, be prepared for a big tab. We recommend sitting at the counter and start off with a couple of appetiser dishes with cocktails, and then move on to sushi.
