Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy's Classic Album Sundays parties – in which groups of audiophiles get together, turn off their mobile phones and listen intently to a particular LP – have proved a surprise hit in the UK, spawning a 'record club' culture analogous to the time-honoured book club. Cosmo brings the concept to Tokyo this weekend, though – confusingly – it's being held on a Friday evening rather than a Sunday. Pink Floyd's The Dark Side of the Moon is the classic album of choice this time around, and the website even lists the audio equipment on which it'll be played, including a Thorens TD520 Turntable with SME 3012R tonearm and Mark Levinson 23.5L Power Amps. Note that doors close at 9.45pm – you wouldn't want to interrupt the listening session, after all.
