Dom Pérignon Kakigori

Mon Aug 4 - Fri Sep 12, 2014 Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa Takanawa Forest Garden

Time Out says

Kakigori, or shaved ice, is all the rage right now in Tokyo: the perfect dessert for the summer heat, this classic is undergoing a revival with new shop openings, fantastic flavour combinations and lengthy queues in front of the most popular specialist cafés. If only the best frozen delight is good enough for you, grab a bunch of friends, book a seat at the Grand Prince Hotel New Takanawa's beer garden and order their OTT Dom Pérignon Kakigori, created with raspberry purée and super-fine ice from Niigata's Minami-Uonuma, and topped with fruit-filled ice cubes and gold leaf. What you'll be getting is a mighty bowl full of the above mixture, which is then divided up into cocktail glasses and further topped with berries and Dom Pérignon champagne. Enough for seven gourmands, this deluxe kakigori will set you back a hefty ¥30,000 and is only served to three groups per day. How about it?
