Review

Founded in 1990 and still going strong at NYC's Union Square, The City Bakery opened this Tokyo shop after first surveying the Japanese market in Osaka. Their basic croissants, cookies, pretzels and baguettes are quality stuff on Tokyo standards, but it's their desserts that are the real attraction. This Shinagawa location also has a restaurant and bar serving decently light grub at lunch and New York-style meat and veg at dinner.
