Put your head around the door at Couzt and you'll notice they're selling everything from light clothing to heavy Doc Marten style boots (shoes seem to be a very popular item here), to secondhand books and vinyl. Look a little further and you'll spot a few sofas, chairs and tables, all significantly retro in appearance, arrange almost like an old English tea room. It's kitsch but cute, and the food (deserts in particular) make it a nice place to kill an hour during a Yanaka walkabout. The ice-cream in particular is a work of art, employing a variety of berries, chocolates, thick fresh cream, a scattering of nuts, some crispy pancakes and a rich chocolate sauce. Simply stunning.
