Review

Oden – vegetables, fish cakes, tofu and other ingredients simmered in broth – is one of Japan's favourite winter warmers, and it doesn't get much tastier than at Fukushimaya. This Azabu-Juban shop has been in business for over 90 years, serving oden for takeaway as well as offering a small eat-in space, with cheaply priced lunch sets available. The kombu-rich broth slips down easily, without none of the oiliness or saltiness you'd get at some other places. Well worth a visit.
