Even with sign and other paraphernalia outside, it's hard to believe that this small, time-worn dwelling in the heart of Kagurazaka actually houses a café. To get to the good stuff, you need to take off your shoes, go up the narrow staircase and step into a space that brings to mind a grandmother's living room somewhere deep in the Japanese countryside. As the name gives away, the speciality here is manju, which come filled with everything from anko bean paste to cheese. You can also order hojicha, green tea or coffee to go with your cake. Remember to look out for the resident cat – he likes to hang out by the window.
