Founded in 1976, this sleepy café on the east side of Takadanobaba Station is perfect for spending a few lazy hours poring over jazz books, magazines or some manga. You’ll always hear classic tunes from the likes of Miles Davis and Duke Ellington here, and you’ll also be sure to spot fellow jazz lovers quietly enjoying the music while sipping on some coffee. The atmosphere is almost religiously still, and lively conversation is not exactly encouraged. Find this hideout on the ground floor of the wood-paneled building right next to the Japan Braille Library.
