Food doesn't get much more high-concept than this. After a series of wildly successful pop-up restaurant events in London, The Art of Dining – aka chef Ellen Parr and set designer Alice Hodge – are heading to Tokyo for a unique collaboration with Ellen's father, Magnum photographer Martin Parr. Working in a space decorated to evoke the latter's distinctively gaudy aesthetic, the duo will create a series of culinary trompes l'oeil based on his photos: whatever you do, don't expect that doughnut-shaped entree to taste anything like a doughnut. Guests will be given an exclusive postcard book to guide them through this discombobulating five-course dinner, with imported British beer to accompany the food. Tickets cost ¥12,000 per person, and are limited to 50 people per night; make reservations at saycheese.peatix.com.
