Jazzanova

Mon Jul 16 - Tue Jul 17, 2012 Blue Note Tokyo

Time Out says

After three years of touring with a full live band, German club jazz act Jazzanova hit the studio to catch the group in full flight. New album Funkhaus Studio Sessions may not have been recorded in front of an audience, but otherwise it's a live album through-and-through, featuring renditions of old staples like 'No Use' and 'Let Me Show Ya' alongside new material. Paul Randolph – whose vocals feature heavily on the record – will be joining the group for their Tokyo dates, which come with DJ support from DJ Kawasaki and Kyoto Jazz Massive's Shuya Okino (on Monday and Tuesday, respectively). As an added bonus, the concerts are being organised in collaboration with Shinjuku café Brooklyn Parlor, meaning that you can get all-you-can-drink Brooklyn Lager for an additional ¥2,500.
