Mitsuru Takeya: ‘Mosquito of Seaside’

Tue Sep 14 - Sat Oct 2, 2010 Megumi Ogita Gallery

Time Out says

Since his early twenties, during which he suddenly began painting and drawing, Mitsuru Takeya, a self-taught artist born in 1980, has claimed an unrelenting drive to continue producing art – art that has brought him artistic acclaim both within Japan and at various art fairs overseas. In his first solo exhibition, which opened at the Megumi Ogita Gallery in July 2009, he covered the walls with an overwhelming number of different pieces that left visitors with a lasting impression of his work. ‘Mosquito of Seaside’, an exhibition that carries a theme of ‘designing monsters’ and takes place in the new, larger premises of the recently relocated Megumi Ogita Gallery, offers visitors the chance to see thirty new paintings and over one hundred watercolor drawings.
