Review

The pair of signed John Lennon cartoons on the walls is the legacy of a chance visit by the former Beatle one afternoon in 1978. With its peaceful atmosphere, tasteful floral decorations, herbal teas and lunchtime vegetarian curries, it isn’t too difficult to understand Lennon’s appreciation of the place. Apparently, the overawed son of the former owner also preserved the great man’s full ashtray, including butts. Alas, he kept this as a personal memento, so it isn’t on display.
