The streets of Shibuya will echo with music throughout August 9, when this community-organised festival takes over Miyashita Park and its surroundings with spontaneous gigs, jam sessions, free-for-all choral performances, instrument-making workshops and plenty more. Anyone bringing their own instrument can join in and play with professional musicians in the 'Swing Carnival', while the 'Zunchaka Parade' sees around 200 locals march around the area in a colourful procession. Engagement is key here, so bring an open mind and prepare to participate. The festival is also still looking for performers – take a look at the application details (in Japanese only) if you're interested.
