Review

Found on the corner of a Roppongi residential street not far from the Lao Embassy, traditional confectioner Ori Higashiya sells seasonal Japanese sweets and Japanese tea, as well as ceramics. Head to the back of the shop and you can sample some of those same sweets, accompanied by matcha and zenmai green teas, in the comfort of the Sabo tearoom. From June to September, they also serve the shaved ice dessert known as kakigori, which can be had with with homemade ume-mitsu (plum syrup) for ¥950.
