Review

Ginza is already packed with European chocolate boutiques catering to Tokyoites' rabid cacao cravings, but Belgian artisan chocolatiers BbyB are still counting on making a name for themselves on this 'battleground' of upscale sweets. Hailing from the traditional resort town of Heist-aan-Zee in northern Belgium, BbyB is the work of Michelin-starred chef Bart Desmidt and chocolate artist Jan Verleye, and produces goodies in formats including pralines, babeluttes and pastes. The sleek, colourful packaging should ensure omiyage popularity, but sitting down at the café sounds more appealing to us – because they also serve certifiably delicious Vascobelo coffee.
