Desmond & The Tutus

Wed May 29, 2013 Shinjuku Marz

Time Out says

Mixing familiar indie-disco tropes with a dash of kwela from their native South Africa, Pretoria's Desmond & The Tutus have shot to the forefront of the guitar band scene at home, even as they've struggled to broaden their appeal overseas. All except in Japan, that is: the band toured here in 2010 (an experience they've described as the highlight of their career to date), and will be returning this month in support of sophomore album Mnusic. After starting their tour at Fever on May 21, the band return to Tokyo to wrap things up at Marz, with spunky support from 8otto, Yasei Collective and Passepied.
