After two decades in a convenient location not far from the east exit of Shinjuku Station, Ban Thai has become a Tokyo fixture. If you're looking for quality Thai food and don't mind paying a little extra, it's a surefire bet, with especially good – and generously spiced – curries. The large, L-shaped dining room is often crowded with families and couples at the weekend, though it's also a popular, cheap weekday lunch spot, when you can have a full set for as little as ¥630. At dinner or weekends (when the restaurant stays open throughout the day), expect to pay around ¥3,000 per person.
Transport Shinjuku Station (Yamanote, Marunouchi, Oedo, Shinjuku, Odakyu, Keio lines)

Open Mon-Fri 11.30am-3pm, 5pm-11.45pm; Sat, Sun & hols 11.30am-11.45pm
