As the second annual UNESCO International Jazz Day rolls around on April 30, Tokyo is getting in on the act with a three-day festival featuring some big names from the Japanese scene – all of them playing for free. Head to the new Waterras complex in Ochanomizu to watch performances by the likes of Sadao Watanabe, Toshihiko Akiyoshi and Naoko Terai, as well as a Blue Note All Star Jazz Orchestra led by trumpeter Eric Miyashiro, with Makoto Ozone guesting on piano.
