There's a surprising shortage of R&B crooners plying their trade in Tokyo for Valentine's Day this year, leaving it to God-fearing gospel singers Take 6 to supply the soundtrack. Following on from their Blue Note gigs over the weekend, the group are heading to the more regal surroundings of Kinshicho's Sumida Triphony Hall on February 14, where they'll perform a cappella first, before hooking up with the New Japan Philharmonic orchestra after the interval. This could get awfully schmaltzy – but on Valentine's Day, sometimes nothing less will do.
