As Yokai Watch continues its quest for world domination, interest in all things yokai (supernatural creatures appearing in Japanese folklore) shows no signs of dying down. Ueno's Matsuzakaya is the latest challenger trying to cash in on the boom, serving up cutesy bento boxes and snacks modelled on the mysterious monsters until the end of August. Try some yokai tamagoyaki (¥486), yokai buns filled with fruit-flavoured cream (¥216) or matcha ice cream topped with yokai-shaped kiwi (¥972), but don't expect to find Jibanyan and friends here.
