Mad for matcha? You'll love the beer garden at Ochanomizu's informatively named Green Tea Restaurant 1899, where ¥3,780 gets you two hours of all-you-can-drink suds with a twist. The six available varieties include 'standard' green tea beer, green tea dark beer and non-alcoholic green tea beer – don't ask us about the taste – plus more familiar options like Premium Malts and Asahi Kuronama. You'll need to pay extra for the grub, but it just might be worth it to fork out for offerings such as matcha-, sencha- and hojicha-flavoured French fries and 'tea soba'. No tempest in a teacup, this one.
