Kobeya Restaurant was established in 1975, at a time when rice was still the staple of the Japanese dinner table. Its aim was to bring bread into the mainstream and onto the table of the average household. The Kobeya Kitchen chain has since opened many bakeries around train stations, and is well known for its traditional European ovens and freshly baked, high quality bread products. The Hiroo store has its own point card. With any purchase over ¥500 you receive a stamp, and if you collect 10 stamps the card can be exchanged for an original Kobeya Kitchen reusable shopping bag.
