Review

This boutique store is part of the Mikimoto family, one of the most famous names in Japanese jewelry with a history dating back to 1899. While the main Mikimoto shop is dedicated to high-end jewels, this store focuses on casual fashion baubles and accessories. Many pieces feature pearls and make ideal Japanese souvenirs. This nine story structure also houses bridal and cosmetic salons. Another attraction is the 3rd floor lounge, where visitors can try various sweets made by chef Hideo Yokota, whose career also includes a stint as pastry chef for the Park Hyatt Tokyo. The building is hard to miss, located on Ginza’s “Brand Street” Namiki-dori. Look for the unique windows of varying sizes.
