Benitokage

There’s always a good crowd at this cramped, quirky Chinese restaurant in Sakura-Shinmachi, and most of them are ordering the dan dan noodles (pictured) – a mouth-watering dish that, once sampled, isn’t easily forgotten. That's just one of a variety of noodle and fried rice dishes on offer at Benitokage, mind you; they also do some delicious fried and steamed gyoza, plus a selection of stir-fried dishes including the ubiquitous mapo dofu. At lunchtime, noodles come with a free side order of rice.
