The latest from Pinback, Information Retrieved, found core members Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow stepping back onto the scene with an album that lacked the bubbling pop overtones of their previous work. Still, devotees of this exacting San Diego indie-pop outfit can rest assured that the group – having endured the tragic loss of bandmate Terrin Durfey – has retained much of its ornate string texturing and trademark bass acrobatics. Catch them across two nights at Astro Hall; tickets go on sale on April 27.
