Time Out says
Call them the hip hop Take 6, if you must. Naturally 7 owe a significant debt to the pioneering a cappella gospel group, but they take things in new directions by beatboxing an entire backing band, complete with drums, bass, horn sections and wailing lead guitar solos. Thankfully, the tunes are strong enough to hold your attention after the novelty value has worn off – but the novelty value is off the charts.
