Though he spent the first five years of his career churning out razor-sharp revisions of tracks by the likes of Grace Jones and Womack & Womack, Wolverhampton kid Mark E announced in 2009 that he was ditching the edits in order to focus on original production instead. The results – documented on last year's Stone Breaker album and releases on his own Merc imprint – carry echoes of deep disco, Chicago house and early techno, served at tempos that won't get you knackered too quickly. If you're looking for warm, spacey grooves this weekend, you know where to go. Support comes from prolific local spinners including Gonno and DJ Kent.
