He was the mash-up genius who realised that Kylie Minogue's 'Can't Get You Out of My Head' might go well with New Order's 'Blue Monday', but it was Erol Alkan's role as resident DJ at long-running London party Trash that really made his name. Over the space of ten years, he went from spinning Suede and Smiths records to a crowd of a hundred people (if even that) to booking the likes of LCD Soundsystem, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Felix da Housecat, and saw the party become one of the capital's hottest nights in the process. Though he would end up calling time on Trash in 2007, Alkan has continued to display a similar taste for eclecticism in his subsequent work, and he now sits at the weirder end of the electro spectrum. For this headlining show at Ageha, he's joined by one of his old buddies from the Trash days, Rory Phillips, with superstar techno DJ Takkyu Ishino playing a rare support role for the night.
