Unarguably one of Japan's best alternative music events, Kaikoo Popwave Festival is returning this spring for a two-day outdoor gig on the shores of Tokyo Bay. It's not the first time they've tried something like this: Kaikoo played to a sold-out crowd at Aomi Ferry Terminal back in 2010, though a post-March 11 rethink led the organisers to hold the 2011 edition as a multi-venue fest in Shibuya instead. This time around, they're taking the action to the Museum of Maritime Science in Odaiba, where you can expect sets from a selection of indie rockers, hardcore bands, hip hoppers and electronica artists. In a departure from previous years, they've also invited a few overseas acts, including indie rapper Doseone, noise rockers No Age and reformed post-hardcore trio Bitch Magnet.
