Keiji Haino

Fri Dec 30, 2011 Showboat

Time Out says

For at least a decade now, veteran psychedelic explorer Keiji Haino has maintained an annual tradition of seeing out the old year with a gruelling all-night performance at one of his regular Koenji haunts, Showboat. It's always tough to know what to expect from this permanently sunglassed multi-instrumentalist: while he unleashed a godsent wall of guitar noise at I'll Be Your Mirror back in February, he's also capable of more contemplative (and, on his off days, downright yawnsome) moments. Assuming that he doesn't spend the whole night playing cymbals and wailing, though, this promises to be a memorable one.
