Review

If you're not one of those fancy types who like their meat all nicely chopped up and domesticated, this Vietnamese barbecue shop in Koenji will be a fun experience. Opened here in summer 2012, Binh Minh is renowned for its whole chicken legs, seasoned just like back in the old country and served with toes and all intact. They also grill offal like gizzard and stomach, while non-chicken alternatives such as squid and shrimp are available as well. As for sides, you'll have to try the honey- and butter-seasoned bread, perfect for avoiding an overly meaty aftertaste and perfectly workable in its own right. The shop stays open until midnight, making it a popular stop on the way back from (or to) Koenji's many quirky bars.
