In terms both of popularity and the enormity of their sound, Envy could fill a venue far larger than Earthdom. Since starting as a fairly conventional – albeit highly regarded – hardcore band, the quintet has expanded its sonic artillery to include the kind of colossal guitar barrages preferred by post-rock outfits such as Mogwai and Mono. Indeed, they're now signed to the former's Rock Action label, which released 2010 album Recitation in Europe. If that record was only intermittently engaging, Envy's live show remains a formidable prospect, as evidenced by their impressive turn at the recent I'll Be Your Mirror festival. For this comparatively intimate (read: sweaty) gig, they're supported by psychobilly-hardcore act Hellbent.
