Review

A pink-hued landmark at the main Roppongi intersection, Almond has provided an instantly recognisable meeting spot for generations of revellers, and – even after being demolished and completely rebuilt in 2010 – is possibly the single best-known coffee shop in Tokyo. Relatively few venture inside, however, where the coffee and cakes are pretty standard fare – it’s part of an unremarkable coffee-shop chain.
