A popular stop for local surfers since it first opened in 1972, Hawaii's Maui Coffee Roasters chose Hiroo as the location for its first – and, to date, only – Japanese branch. Opened in 2008, Maui Coffee Roasters serves a variety of Hawaiian coffee beans, available French press style, as well as flavoured coffees, lattes, fruit juice and bottled Kona beer. Breakfast options include eggs benedict and pancakes, while at lunch you can take your pick from Hawaiian staples like Loco Moco.
