Located down an alleyway by Kaminarimon Intersection, Takajo Kotobuki specializes in game and boasts over 300 years of history. Bookings must be made in advance, and if you're a first time customer, you’ll need to be introduced by one their regular customers. However, with only a handful of game restaurants in Tokyo, once you’re inside you’ll be in for a treat. The game prepared here is all of exceptional quality, however, due to variable supply, the exact menu changes daily – depending on the birds that come in. Interestingly, they’ll even let you bring your own drink at no extra charge, although the price of a set course here already includes enough beer to satisfy. Further adding to the entertainment is a proprietress who speaks in a particularly attractive old shitamachi (downtown) dialect.
