Time Out says

Few periods in Japan’s post-war history were as tumultuous as the late ’60s, when protests, riots and homegrown terrorism were the norm. It was also an important time for the country's shutter hounds, as the Japan Professional Photographers Society held a high-profile centennial exhibition, while Camera Mainichi began to showcase new kon-pora (contemporary) photographers and the adventurous new periodical Provoke: Provocative Materials for Thought was launched. This exhibition draws these many strands together, examining how concepts of Japanese photography developed between 1966 and 1974.
