Skaidi + Steinar Raknes

Wed May 8 - Thu May 9, 2013 Shinjuku Pit Inn

Time Out says

Versatile Norwegian jazz bassist and vocalist Steinar Raknes has worked with the likes of Chick Corea and Bobby McFerrin in the past, but he hit on something quite remarkable when he teamed up with professional yoiker Inga Juuso, an expert in the traditional singing styles of the Sami people. As Skaidi, the pair play an alternately eery and affecting form of reconstructed folk, which you can hear across two nights of gigs at Pit Inn, both of which also feature solo sets by Raknes.
