Soil & "Pimp" Sessions

Sat Jun 16, 2012 Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall

Time Out says

Club jazz doyens Soil & "Pimp" Sessions are going all-out for their first Tokyo date since returning from the Jazzystan music festival in Kazakhstan (no joke). The sextet will be doubling in size for their show at Hibiya Park's outdoor amphitheatre, recruiting a one-off big band that includes members of Ego-Wrappin' and the Gossip of Jaxx, Zainichi Funk and Shibusashirazu Orchestra. And just in case that didn't set the bar high enough already, the second part of the gig sees the core group hurtle through a non-stop medley of their biggest hits. Easy now: this could get hectic.
