Tape & Tenniscoats

Ask many Tenniscoats fans which album to start with in the whimsical indie experimentalists' dense discography, and they'll probably point you in the direction of 2007's Tan-Tan Therapy. The fruit of a collaboration with Swedish group Tape, it offered a vision of the duo's music that was both more focused and more richly orchestrated than anything they've made before or since. All of which makes it encouraging – nay, exciting – to see the two groups embark on their first Japan tour together since 2008, which precedes the release of a second collaborative album. Tape & Tenniscoats also play at Vacant on November 15.
