Nine museums in and around Ueno Park team up to attract the young ‘uns with a program that makes doing the rounds an exciting adventure. Focusing particularly on first-timers, the ‘Museum Start i-Ueno’ provides kids with a ‘museum starter pack’ containing a map and a fun guide book that’ll come in handy when exploring. The route will take you from the Ueno Royal Museum to the National Museum of Western Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Zoo, the International Library of Children’s Literature, the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo University of the Arts and Tokyo Bunka Kaikan. At each location, kids can chant a magic word to receive a badge designed by artist Katsuhiko Hibino.
Note that this event will only be held in Japanese.
