Master of portraits Yoshihiko Ueda takes on a huge target this time: sumo wrestler Hakuho, the record-breaking Mongolian yokozuna who has been dominating the sport for the last few years and has become something of a cultural icon in the process. This exhibition, organised by the Tokyo-Ga photography project, portrays Hakuho, a foreign champion in a highly closed world of tradition, as a representative of the contradictory and multi-layered character of Tokyo.
