Review

More of a music venue than its sister in Minami-Aoyama, this branch of the mini Mandala empire specialises in experimental music. It’s a hotbed of activity (one of the live CDs on John Zorn’s Tzadik label was recorded here), where local stars sometimes show up unannounced for one-off gigs with friends. Check out Cicala Mvta, playing a mix of chingdon (Japanese marching music), klezmer and Eastern European folk.
