Even adults like the idea of Enid Blyton's 'Magic Faraway Tree', and although it's unlikely the owners of And People had this story in mind when they decorated their restaurant with hanging plants, white drapes, fairy lights and chandeliers, they've managed to create little pockets of escape that make you feel like you might very well be dining in The Enchanted Wood.
Whether you're seated on the two-table terrace overlooking a steep, quiet alleyway just around the corner from Tokyu Hands, or you're bundled up in the bunkbed-style section at the back with its red drapes and moody lighting, or you're lounging upstairs with a cocktail, the intimate atmosphere carries through.
The menu is in Japanese but comes with images for each dish. The food is light and unfussy, ranging from snacks like nachos with guacamole to tomato pasta and an octopus and chickpea risotto. They have a separate lunch menu which includes things like a simple curry and white rice for ¥750 (+tax). Their cocktail menu (from ¥630 +tax) is a real treat and, aside from the ambience, is what will probably lure you back for another visit.
