マンゴーパッション

Review

You can never have too many options when it comes to purchasing fancy cake. One top Omotesando contender is Glaciel, which opened in summer 2013 and has been flogging its fruity, spongy wares to the masses ever since. Head pastry chef Hiroyuki Emori trained in the land of decadent sweets (or, as some people call it, 'France'), but might also be familiar to long-standing customers of Yokohama patisserie Avril de Bergue. The speciality here is elaborate entremets glacé – glazed mousse cakes – and while Glaciel's claim to be creating an entirely 'new genre' in the Japanese market seems a tad overheated, they do look mighty tasty. The shop is also whipping up its own ice cream in-store, alongside a range of dinky cakes that would make an ideal gift for your auntie. Stop by and make up all those precious calories lost during a hard day's shopping.
