Established in 1854, this is the Ginza headquarters of the venerable Parisian tea shop which has carried on the knowledge and experience of the House of Mariage since the days of Louis XIV. The main draw is, of course, tea: it features 500 types from 35 countries. On the first floor, there is a shop which sells tea leaves, pots and other tea implements, and the second and third floors are occupied by a tea salon. The waiters and waitresses are hugely knowledgeable about different types and blends of tea and will make suggestions based on your taste. The salon also features cakes and light dishes which go well with tea – the salmon croque-monsieur is exquisite. It is always bustling with ladies enjoying a drink and a gossip.
