New Zealand indie outfit So So Modern popped up briefly at the Hacienda Oiso Festival at the start of Golden Week before heading to China, but they're returning to Tokyo for a few shows of their own this month. With a synthed-up indie sound that marks them out as a less obnoxious alternative to the Klaxons, the group should get a warm reception when they bring their recent Transpacific Express EP to Fever on Monday. They've got some impressive support, too, in the form of razor-sharp instrumental act Ningen OK, electronica maven De De Mouse (performing with Lite drummer Akinori Yamamoto) and tape deck manipulators Open Reel Ensemble.
