For months now, a sizable gaggle of Japanese music lovers has been counting down the days until that block in their calendars marked off as 'My Bloody Valentine Week'. As the influential wall-of-noise guitar band head to Studio Coast for a series of sold-out shows, their legion of Japanese acolytes will be gathering in Kichijoji for the annual Japan Shoegazer Festival. Osaka band Lemon's Chair and Tokyo Shoegazer (both of whom featured on just-released MBV tribute album Yellow Loveless) top the bill, with support including Cruyff in the Bedroom and Hiroshima's Speaker Gain Teardrop, plus a full complement of electronica artists in the second room.
