Seamus Blake Quartet

Fri Jul 6, 2012 Shinjuku Pit Inn

Time Out says

Seamus Blake has a habit of making most other saxophonists feel very small indeed. One of the most gifted tenor saxmen of his generation (only Joshua Redman and Chris Potter can really compare), he combines a complete technical mastery of his instrument with a brash and unashamedly melodic approach to improvisation, which earned him first prize in the 2002 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Saxophone Competition. Catch him at Pit Inn in the course of his current Japan tour, where he'll be playing in a quartet with pianist Orrin Evans, drummer Donald Edwards and bassist Matt Clohesy.
