From drum 'n' bass to broken beat to wide-eyed soul and astral jazz, production unit 4hero have travelled a fair distance in the course of their two-decade career. The duo's Dennis 'Dego' McFarlane would start his own 2000Black label in 1998, focussing on nu-jazz and groove-based music, though it took him over a decade to release his own debut album on the imprint, this year's A Wha' Him Deh Pon? Chances are you'll be hearing a few cuts from that record when Dego guests at this affordably priced party at Unit, heading a varied bill that also includes the ever dependable Juzu a.k.a. Moochy and Masaya Fantasista from Jazzy Sport.
